Just a few notes

January 11, 2009

I wanted to update but I wasn’t sure what to update about… so let’s just throw it all together! It’ll be quick though. ;-)

A friend of ours that we haven’t really spent much time with in a long time came over yesterday. We had fun, watched some things on the computer, and ate some of my awesome stir-fry then apple pie. Fun times. I had an energy drink and two large cups of coffee; I’ll probably drink less caffeine today.

The gift card I redeemed was ordered by SimpleGPT so I should be receiving it in the mail any day now (I requested physical). I’ll be posting proof on the Payment Proof page as well as on the SimpleGPT forums as soon as I get it.

I’m trying a few new sites out. I’ll be adding them to Geek Dad’s Guide to Free Stuff once I’m more familiar with them and how well they work/pay. I don’t want to clutter up the page with sites that I’m uncertain of. Anyway, I got side tracked. Here you go:

- Promosquad HitPreditor

Promosquad is the first site I’ve done where you get points for actually listening to and rating new music. So far I love it. I’ve heard songs/bands I knew nothing of and might not have heard on the radio or normally picked up on my own. Get points for rating music, rating artists/bands, and more. The prizes require a decent amount of points, though I ran out of songs pretty quick. Checked back in a few days and had a new one to rate! So the updates seem decent. I’ll post more as I know more, but feel free to check it out for yourself. At the very least you get to listen to and rate some great music for free. ETA 02/14/2009: I wouldn’t recommend this website to anyone. They don’t provide any customer support, people aren’t receiving prizes from over a year ago… you get the idea.6/7/2010 Update — Promosquad became HitPredictor somewhat recently, which brought major improvements to this site. Prizes are shipped, active contests and excellent updates. The support I received after the change was excellent. I love HitPredictor and you should check it out! You can read more about it on their site, or on N.G. Woosh on Free Stuff.

- Instant Cash Sweepstakes

I’ve been playing around with this one for a few days. They ask you 3 questions per survey, and you get to answer 5 surveys every 6 hours. Answer the 5 and they do lock you out and even give you the amount of time it’ll take, so if you’re not sure and you show up in 3 hours it’ll let you know how much time is left. Anyway, the surveys are pretty fun and with only 3 questions per survey it isn’t hard at all. After answering all three questions you either win cash or points. If you win points they go into the next cash drawing. So far I’ve only won points but I don’t give up easily. Oh, and you can cash out (PayPal) after you reach $2 (minimum).

And saving the best bit for last, Nublet’s party is going to be fun. We’ll be working on the cake and all of that tonight/tomorrow. I need to charge my camera tonight… but anyway, there will be plenty of pictures so don’t miss those. Oh yeah, speaking of pictures:

Nublet

Happiest kid in the world.
