Geek Dad’s Tips for Free Stuff
February 19, 2009Updated 9/19/2009
Removed a few dud sites from this. Will revisit later to see what needs to be done with this post.
Please see my other blog, N.G. Woosh on Free Stuff for more great free stuff websites.
If you haven’t read Geek Dad’s Guide to Free Stuff, you should do so before reading these tips.
If you’re reading this, then chances are you’re already a member of one of the sites in the guide linked above, or you’re considering joining one. I’m going to give you several tips on how to succeed with some of these websites. You may already know this information, but if not then this could really help you. Please note that I am 100% against botting, cheating, any form of fraud, etc. and you will not find any sort of that information here.

First, let’s take a look at Points4Rewards and SimpleGPT:
Since both of these sites are similar (and under the same owner) I’m going to combine them into one section. There ARE differences between the two sites, but those have been mentioned in other posts.
Both sites have a chat box where several very helpful mods, a friendly admin, and many users are willing to help you along. Utilize this! However, make sure you read the chat rules and FAQ before you begin chatting away. Both sites have a link to this at the bottom of the chat window.

You’ll get a lot of helpful information from the FAQ alone. You have to understand that if YOU succeed, the admin succeeds. He wants you to do well on his site(s).
Next, visit the forums. This is very important! Many people visit websites and rarely ever visit the forums, but this is where you’ll find posts filled with tips, crediting offers, instant crediting offers, proof of payment, and more. Get active on the forum; it does help.

Now let’s go over your browser settings. If you’ve read the forums and the FAQ you should have already read about this, but this is a tips post, right?
Popups: Turn your popup blocker OFF. You want to allow popups because the cookies that you need to get from offers will sometimes be placed in the popups.
Cookies: Accept ALL cookies, including third party cookies. Also make sure that you clear your browser’s cookies between each offer.
Ad Blockers: Turn this off (FireFox users, you might be using AdBlockPlus — Disable it for offers). Blocking the ads can not only prevent getting credit, but it can also prevent entire offers from loading. Ad Blockers don’t get mentioned often, and a lot of people follow the tips and can’t figure out why they don’t get credit. This does matter.
While completing the offers, use accurate information, and make sure that you never repeat an offer that you’ve done elsewhere (or between sites!). Remember, a lot of quick, small offers will add up to a larger amounts of points. Don’t avoid an offer just because it has a low payout.

Instant Cash Sweepstakes is a combination of luck and diligence. You get to answer 5 quick surveys every 3 hours. The above is a perfect example (it’s real, by the way — give it a shot!). Answer as many as you can throughout the day every day. It’s a lot of fun so this isn’t hard to do, but playing more means more chances to win cash. Even if you don’t win cash immediately during a survey, you win tickets for the $250 drawing. The more tickets you have, the better your chances are!

More to come! Keep checking back.
