Breaking the First Two Rules
June 4, 2009The first rule of Fight Club is, you do not talk about Fight Club.
The second rule of Fight Club is, you do not talk about Fight Club.
So let’s talk about Fight Club.
I watched the DVD the first time with Lynn a while ago after a friend recommended it. The first reaction was something along the lines of "um, what did we just watch?"
After a while we ended up owning it, watching it a few more times, and even watching it with the commentary turned on. That’s how much we like the movie.
I heard good things about the book, and after watching the movie so many times I really wanted to read the book for myself. I’ve been watching for a good deal on the book for a bit and finally came across a used copy on Amazon that I was satisfied with (condition does matter). I got the book in the mail yesterday and today I’ve spent a good portion of the day today reading it.
I’m thrilled with it! I haven’t been able to sit down and enjoy a good book in a while, and I love the way Chuck Palahniuk writes.
So this post isn’t exactly about Fight Club in the way that one may go in and describe or review the story and share their opinions. What is it about? It’s more like… Fight Club is awesome. That is all.
